An update to the Android Market very soon?

Google_Android_Update

Android gets its period change, which could lead to changes on the application visibility.

Older applications that have not been updated since June (Release Android 2.2 - Froyo) may no longer be visible on some terminals.

Indeed since that time, developers should specify the types of devices the application is intended. This is done with the parameter <uses-feature>. For example if an application requires the Bluetooth, it must specify <uses-feature android:name= »android.hardware.Bluetooth "/>. This selection allows the display of Android Market enabled applications over the phone. This explains why phones under the same version of Android can not always access the same applications.

A ticket is to appear on the Android Developers Blog, to remind these rules are in place for several months. It may seem strange at first, but finally it's not really a surprise because it announces the addition of new features and attributes required. This could be size constraints (for tablets), reorganization (new categories), etc..

With these changes, Google will have to rescan all its core applications. However, if some information is missing, they will no longer be visible. If you are a developer and you have not updated your / your application (s) from this date, remember to do so.

This reinforces even more the rumor of imminent release of Gingerbread, but still no information is available on the official date.
