The Audi R8 is another name for power and performance. In India, the Audi R8 is available in two versions - the base model and the higher-end model with R-Tronic transmission. Both variants: the R8 Quattro and the Rare are powered by a 4.2-litre mid-mounted V8 engine with 4-valve FSI technology. This technology allows the fuel to be directly injected into the combustion chamber to further enhance the fuel efficiency and performance of the engine. The V8 engine generates 414 bhp and is teamed to a 6-speed manual transmission for the base model. The top-end model has a sportier race car outfit with an R-tronic transmission along with shift paddles mounted on the steering wheel.
The R8 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds. With its high revolution technology, this super car delivers high torque and unmatched performance. The R8 flaunts a magnetic ride adaptive damper system and the shock absorbers use a special fluid. The consistency of this special fluid in the shock absorbers is controlled by an electro-magnetic field giving a smooth ride irrespective of road conditions.
