Once upon a time, this is where the George pub stood. They didn't get enough custom to keep it going, but the COOP thinks that it's the perfect spot for another mini-supermarket. Strange, really, as there is one about 500 yards away on Minshull New Road! But I'm sure they know best. There's another unit planned, possibly a take-away, and a plot of housing will be built later this year.
